今のところ山梨県の山岳地帯でのみ採集されている。体が一様に黄色で同じ地域に分布するT. alniに似るが、前翅に褐色の帯があることで識別できる。寄主植物はクロウメモドキ（クロウメモドキ科）の葉。

Currently, this species is collected only from the mountainous area of Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The body color is uniformly yellow and similar to that of T. alni, which is distributed in the same area, but it can be distinguished from the latter species by having the fore wing with a brown band (in the latter species, the fore wings lack a brown band). It breeds on the leaves of Rhamnus japonica [Rhamnaceae].
